Barbados Holidays – Take a Hike!

Barbados Holidays – Take a Hike!

The luxury holiday destination of Barbados is a true gem of the Caribbean and there is no better way to explore on land than taking a hike that will get you up close to the flora and fauna whilst offering amazing views of the island.

The best way to do this is by joining a hiking tour with an experienced guide such as Stephen Mendes of Hike Barbados. Both private customised tours and group tours are available and scenic pre-structured hikes include 3, 6, 8 or even 10-mile routes that offer something for everyone and all fitness levels.

A 3-mile introductory hike is great for those who wish to avoid climbing, are not accustomed to hiking or simply require a shorter hike.

This hike starts at Bath Beach, St. John and visits the largest waterfall in Barbados. A hike through the jungle to Pothouse Spring where the Rastafarian brethren live in harmony with nature is followed by a descent to the coast in Congor Bay and back along the coast to the Bath Beach.

At the other end of the scale, those who have considerable experience hiking in the tropical heat can enjoy a 10-mile endurance hike. The hike begins at Barclays Park and continues through Benab to a climb at Chalky Mount. This hardened hiker tour also ventures through The Potteries of Chalky Mount, a crossing at the Bruce Vale River and several other hill climbs.

6 and 8-mile tours are also available to ensure there is something suited just for you!

Holidaysplease now supply a free Travel Guide that recommends plenty of things to do on a holiday to Barbados and this includes an article for Hike Barbados along with other activities that will ensure a spectacular holiday is enjoyed.
